Saar. 24. Travels. Writes. Does that make her a travel-writer? Not just yet. Loves to bring all her beloved ones, earthly and heavenly creatures, along on her trip. Will try to do so by dropping notes, posting pictures, videos, writing stories. A.k.a.: sharing her experiences. Don't feel like reading from a screen? Just wait for the book to get published! (*Wishful thinking*)

You are my cinema, I can watch you forever

These lyrics always remind me of you, dear Dave (and I miss watching you getting your moves on in our dorm while they’re blurring out of your speakers). But that is not what I wanted to post about now. (But…I do miss you buddy…Must.Visit. Miami.)

I wanted to write about going to the cinema in Bangkok, how dirt-cheap it is, and how I will be missing being able to watch movies for less than 2 euro - on weekdays. (Oh, the joy of a studentcard!)

To ease my pain, a list with movies I intend to watch before leaving. (If anybody wants to join - Emmey, Nan, Cutenekko - please do!))

Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011)

“In dreams I have grand visions of Sushi”

Set in Tokyo, a 85 year old sushi master Jiro Ono works tirelessly in his world renowned restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro. As his son Yoshikazu faces the pressures of stepping into his father’s shoes and taking over the legendary restaurant, Jiro relentlessly pursues his lifelong quest to create the perfect piece of sushi.

Anonymous (2011)

A political thriller about who actually wrote the plays of William Shakespeare— Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford— set against the backdrop of the succession of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Essex Rebellion against her.

The Lady (2011)

The story of pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi and the academic and writer Michael Aris; a true story of love set against political turmoil.

What movies do you look forward to in 2012? I’m curious about The Rum Diary (Johnny Depp mjumm) and (mostly!) Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I would not mind watching The Iron Lady (Meryl Streep FTW), Young Adult (Charlize <3), Alleen maar nette mensen (Dutch), Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Hunger Games, …
